Our commitments
and certifications

At VIT, we are strongly committed to our
quality, safety and environmental approach.

Our commitment

From the quality of our products and services to reducing our environmental impact,
and ensuring the health and safety of our employees, VIT is committed to ensuring everyone’s satisfaction on a daily basis.

With the help of our QSE manager and all our employees, VIT is certified to ensure continuous improvement in terms of the quality of our products, our relationships with our customers and partners, as well as safety and the environment. This foundation has enabled the Group to set up a specific system and organisation for the traceability and implementation of our QSE projects.

The VIT Group is truly committed to improving over the years and to implementing tools that enable our employees to work with peace of mind.

Our certifications

Cekal

Cekal certification is specific to the glass manufacturing industry. It is voluntary and provides a ten-year guarantee on the moisture resistance of insulating glass units.
It allows us to certify the quality and performance of our insulating glass based on audits and tests. This certification is essential for attesting to the quality of VIT products and has an impact on the manufacture and inspection of glazing. It provides a rationale for implementing new methods, thereby enabling the Group to continuously improve. This certification also provides a very precise working framework with daily production checks (on sealing joints, for example) to verify the quality of product batches.

The four companies each have their own certification, as they do not specialise in the same types of glazing (double glazing with or without argon filling, with silicone, polyurethane or hot melt coating, altitude balancing, crossbars, renovation profiles, triple glazing). They therefore complement each other depending on the different projects and provide clear proof of certification.

Of the 76 certified glazing centres in France, the group owns four !

Iso

For the sustainability of the company and in the spirit of continuous improvement, VIT was certified ISO9001 in 1997..
As a major regional player in the glass industry, the company took an even more qualitative turn with triple Quality-Environment-Safety certification in 2010, which was obtained in 2013 and then renewed in 2017 with the 2015 versions of standards 9001 and 14001. OHSAS 18001, then transition to ISO 45001 in 2019.
Today, VIT is certified:
– ISO 9001 for quality
– ISO 14001 for the environment
– and 45001 for safety
This voluntary initiative by the Group has instilled a spirit of continuous improvement among all Group employees.
ISO standards are fully integrated into VIT’s development process and also enable the company to identify potential discrepancies. We then implement corrective measures to meet the requirements and comply with these certifications.

Our commitment to the environment

At VIT, we know that the climate emergency is very real and that industry has a real role to play in protecting the environment.

In line with its commitment to the environment, since April 2023, The VIT Group has joined the Business for Climate Convention. (CEC) of Burgundy-Franche-Comté.
What is the CEC?
The Business Climate Convention is a gathering of economic decision-makers to exchange ideas and imagine, design and implement solutions that reconcile ecological actions and economic priorities. The topics discussed are wide-ranging, from the water cycle and biodiversity to global pollution.
The overall objective is to raise awareness among businesses. and quickly implement concrete actions that enable companies to remain economically viable while preserving our planet.

Why is the VIT Group joining this initiative?
- Understanding environmental issues and their impact on the world, the region and our company
- Co-constructing new economic models compatible with life and planetary boundaries
- Join a group of committed and determined local leaders
- Create a wave of ecological redirection and change in our region.

As professionals and experts in glazing, we felt it was our duty to implement an optimal procedure that would enable circular management within our group. In order to prevent no broken glass and that our management is optimal, Here are the steps we have put in place :

1 - After production, the glass plates are delivered to the VIT warehouses. The glass is delivered in sheets, which allows us to carry out your custom projects, even on very large windows or bay windows.

2 - The cuts are then optimised according to the projects we are working on. The resulting offcuts are reused as much as possible.

3 - Waterfalls that are too small and broken or worn-out windows are recovered by floaters to remanufacture flat glass trays.

For us, this management is the most optimal way to process glass and recycle as much material as possible.

Since 1 January 2023, the VIT Group has been a member of the eco-organisation VALOBAT in order to comply with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations regarding Products and Construction Materials Sector Building (PMCB).

The principle of Extended Producer Responsibility requires all producers to French market for finished products or building materials to join an eco-organisation approved by the public authorities and entrust it with the management of waste from the end of life of their products and materials in exchange for a financial contribution (the eco-contribution) based on the quantities of products placed on the market. The eco-organization then sets up collection points throughout the country to recover the waste.

Products covered by the PMCB EPR within the VIT group :

  • VI renovation, secondary glazing
  • Guardrail: Stopfall (profiles + glazing)
  • Handrail : Stopfall handrail
  • Balcony divider: tempered glass + clamps or glazing + profiles
  • Connecting door : Clarit kit, Securit
  • Bath screen : Filéo kit
  • Shower enclosure : Shower kit

The product sold must be ready to install. That is why all products manufactured at VIT are not affected. For a guardrail, for example, if we only sell you the glass, the item is not subject to the eco-contribution at VIT and you would be responsible for collecting it. However, if we sell you the glass and all the peripherals needed to install it, the item is then subject to the eco-contribution by VIT. Furthermore, you yourself are considered a distributor when selling windows, glass doors, etc... finished and ready to install.

For the return of your end-of-life products, collection points organised by eco-organisations are available. (VALOBAT, ECOMAISON, VALDELIA…) allow you to deposit waste in accordance with certain rules (see OCA Bâtiment guide).
