Low-emissivity glazing : thermal comfort all year round

What is low-emissivity (Low-E) glazing ?

Low-emissivity glazing is designed to reflect heat back into the building using
cutting-edge technology :
Low-E layer : A thin, virtually invisible metallic coating applied to the glass reduces heat loss.
Argon gas : Inserted between the panes of glass, it enhances thermal insulation by limiting heat exchange.
Hot edge spacer (Warm Edge) : This special component minimises
thermal bridges for enhanced performance.

The advantages of low-emissivity glazing

Significant reduction in energy consumption
In winter, low-emissivity glazing retains heat inside, reducing heating requirements.
In summer, it prevents overheating by controlling solar heat gain.
Improved thermal comfort
You will no longer feel cold near windows. This glazing guarantees a consistent temperature inside, summer and winter.
More natural light, less waste
Its optimal transparency lets in natural light, illuminating your spaces while
reducing your energy footprint.

In short, more light, less heat loss and better insulation.

Focus on therm 1.1 glazing

Therm 1.1 glass is a reinforced thermal insulation glazing (ITR) that combines high energy performance with optimal transparency. Produced by cathodic spraying and laser crystallisation, it provides natural light while limiting heat loss. With a Ug value of 1.1 W/m²°K (double glazing with a 16 mm argon gap), it meets the requirements of bioclimatic projects.

Difference between Therm 1.0 and Therm 1.1

Therm 1.1 offers transparency comparable to clear glass, with a solar factor of 65%, allowing free solar energy to be captured. It combines thermal performance (Ug of 1.1 W/m²°K) and visual comfort. Therm 1.0, with a Ug of 1.0 W/m²°K, has an even more efficient coating for energy-efficient projects.

FAQ – Everything you need to know about acoustic glazing

What is low-emissivity (Low-E) glazing ?

This glazing has a thin metallic coating that reflects heat back into the room while allowing natural light to pass through. This reduces your heating costs and heat loss.

How to properly install low-emissivity glazing ?

For optimal performance, ensure that the Low-E coating, which faces
the interior of the air or gas (argon) cavity, is installed on the inside of the building.
Have the installation carried out by a professional to avoid thermal bridges.

Is low-emissivity glazing compatible with all types of joinery ?

Yes, it fits perfectly into wooden, PVC or aluminium frames and is suitable for windows, bay windows and glass façades.
